Well its always lovely to be asked to have your work exhibited as part of a big event, so you will be able to see my work and others such as Samantha Bryan and Brendan Hesmondhalgh up at Dionne Swift's Open House as part of Holmfirth Art Week. You can find out more about all the venues here.
My work is at Venue No 24 and there will be lots to see, sculpture, textiles, jewellery and more. It runs from 1st July - 7th July, so hope you manage to get along to see some of the lovely work that will be on display.

I have already mentioned about my work that has been in an exhibition on Memory in Scarborough at Woodend Gallery. It began in the studio, making, working out compositions and getting things framed.
To delivering it and waiting to see how the final exhibition would look. I managed to get up to the coast last Sunday for the final day of the exhibition, so if you didn't get the chance to have a sunny day out to Scarborough, here are a few photos for you.
A beautiful setting, ideal for this quiet, intimate work inspired from conversations with my Grandmother.

I've been meaning to post about this for a while. I spent a lovely day last month at the Halifax branch of the Embroiderers' Guild, running my Mapping Marks for Stitch workshop. I always begin this workshop with some drawing, and often get responses of "I can't draw", " I don't enjoy drawing". It seems that many of us are scared at the prospect of beginning to draw, but I have some fun techniques to get people started, and have to say that the Halifax Embroiderers' took the challenges on board and created some lovely marks on paper. There were so many to choose from, I could do with a separate blog, but here are just a few of them.
They also get the prize for the best response to a machine embroidery demo with a fabulously long "Oooooooo" (the type usually used for fireworks!!) Thank you for a lovely day ladies.
You can see more about their day on Anne's blog here..Anne
