Fiona Wilson works in a variety of materials, wood, paper, cloth, stitch and printed matter to create work based on collections and narratives. Intrigued by the lost, the overlooked, the forgotten and the hidden, she has an eye for detail and a passion to share skill and knowledge.
Fiona has taught workshops both at Radiant Works at Huddersfield and within colleges and Universities since 2009 and has experience of tutoring and lecturing groups and individuals from private workshops up to degree level.
Fiona offers a variety of technique based courses as well as a more mentoring and developmental approach for those who are looking for advice and feedback to challenge their work.
This workshop will introduce you to a variety of mark making and drawing techniques to create patterns and designs to take through into machine and hand stitch. Ideal for the beginner or for those of you who are nervouse of drawing. You will work with a variety of fabrics and papers to create bonded and stitched samples to take away. There will also be an opportunity to use an Embellisher as part of this workshop. (Own sewing machine required.)

Three Dimensional Stitch Workshop - £50 per person
Learn techniques such as smocking, pleats and darts, stuffed and rolled shapes, wire and boning to develop three dimensional fabric and paper forms. Own sewing machine required and some hand stitch involved. Ideal if you want to raise the surface of your fabrics for a more sculptural approach to embroidery. (own sewing machine required)
