Back from the Festival of Quilts

Well I had a lovely day yesterday walking round the Festival of Quilts - always something interesting to see. I promised a full picture of my quilt on my return so here it is...

No prizes for me, but was still great to see it exhibited. I think my work is maybe too far removed from what a quilt is expected to be, so may try a different technique for next year.

    Hi Fiona - lovely day yesterday. Your quilt is lovely but as they hung it over black fabric you couldnt see the detail/layering like the photo above. It changed the way it looked didnt it? Needed the white background. I thought you deserved a prize xxxx

    Thanks - would have been nice, but its not everything. At least I have a nice large piece to take to the Knit and Stitch shows :)

    The finished quilt is very beautiful Fiona, you are one talented lady, I would imagine that the quilt world is a hard nut to crack and change perceptions.

    I would love to see a bigger image of your quilt - any chance of you adding one?
    or some details? It looks very intriguing and I'd like to see how you've developed your theme since your CHF piece.

    Hi Ruth - I will post some more close ups soon - but I will also be taking this piece to the Kint and Stitch shows at Harrogate and London - come and say hello if you plan on visiting teh show.
