This weeks find ......

Always partial to something in a box

Love the details and the rusty metal loop

Any guesses as to what it is?

A scroll of paper

Punctured with dots - perfect for my collection of marks

A job lot of 8 of them to play with - joy.

  1. Did you know what the scroll is?

It is for a player piano -- we had one when I was a child. The post brought back memories of fun hours spent pumping the pedals so the scoll would make the piano play music while we sang at the top of our lungs!

    1. Yes I knew, was just teasing, I just love the quality of the paper and the way they are packaged together, never been lucky enough to have a go on a piano with it though. Must have been great fun

  2. Pure joy,Fiona!
My nana had a player piano that she would allow all the grandchildren to sit at while she pumped the peddles. Once we could peddle it for ourselves she would sit beside us sipping her tea smiling and singing along.
Lucky you to have these beautiful scrolls of paper. Even as a kid I liked the feel of the paper more than the music! Oh you'll do wonderful things with these!

  3. My favorite piano roll was the William Tell Overture...it rocked! And it was a real work out to pump that fast!
